ELECTRICAL SAFETY

ARC FLASH STUDY

Arc Flash is the result of a rapid release of energy due to an arcing fault between a phase bus bar and another phase bus bar, neutral or a ground.

An arc fault is similar to the arc obtained during electric welding and the fault has to be manually started by something creating the path of conduction or a failure such as a breakdown in insulation.

OBJECTIVE

  1. Human safety by understanding PPE requirements.
  2. Plant safety.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY AUDIT

Electricity is an important part of our modern world and sometimes it is very easy to just forget how dangerous it can be.

Given the correct circumstances electricity can cause severe injuries or even death.

OBJECTIVE

  1. Human safety.

Audit Parameters.

  • Compliance to Statutory Rules
  • Electrical Shock/ Flash / Injury Hazards
  • Electrical Fire Hazards
  • Earthing System
  • Competency and Adequacy of Electrical Personnel
  • Electrical Preventive Maintenance
  • Electrical Accident Investigation Procedure
  • Hazardous Area Classification and Installation of Special Electrical Equipment
  • Electrical Protection System
  • Electrical Single Line Diagram
